The Federal Traffic Law and its executive regulations stipulate that violating drivers will not leave a sufficient safety distance behind the front vehicles, with a fine of 400 dirhams, and four traffic points for the driver of the vehicle.

It also stipulates a fine of 600 dirhams, and six traffic points for a violation of overtaking in the wrong way, while the driver who commits a violation of not giving way to vehicles that have the priority of the road coming from the rear or from the left will be punished with a fine of 400 dirhams.

Recently, traffic authorities in the country began using smart systems to monitor the violation of not leaving the safety distance between vehicles on the roads, as it indicated that the aim is to control aggressive drivers who stick their vehicles in front vehicles, especially on highways.
