China News Service, Toronto, July 31. The Yunnan General Chamber of Commerce in Canada held a ceremony to celebrate its 7th anniversary in Toronto on July 30, local time.

After 7 years of development, the association currently has 16 directors and more than 800 members, and has become the investment cooperation agency and external publicity window of Yunnan Province in Canada.

There are more than 280 Yunnan students in the mutual aid group established by the association during the new crown epidemic.

Zhu Yan, the founding president of the Yunnan General Chamber of Commerce in Canada, said that since the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce, it has insisted on uniting and serving the villagers with practical actions, actively publicized Yunnan national culture, successfully built a bridge for bilateral business and cultural exchanges between Canada and Yunnan Province, and played a good role in the overseas Chinese group. It acts as a bridge and makes positive contributions to Canada-China friendship.

The association plans to organize a delegation to visit Yunnan this autumn.

Zhu Yan invited Canadian entrepreneurs to take a walk and take a look at Yunnan, experience the beauty and charm of Yunnan firsthand, and jointly create opportunities and seek new development.

The Chinese Consulate General in Toronto, Canadian federal, provincial and municipal representatives sent letters or attended the on-site ceremony to congratulate.

Relevant departments in Yunnan Province and many overseas Chinese groups also sent congratulatory letters and telegrams.

In order to thank all walks of life for their support and encouragement of the younger generation, the association also carried out three commendations: Community Contribution Award, Outstanding Contribution Award, and Outstanding Youth Award.
