“At the moment, we cannot accept children, because the Lithuanian side has decided to refuse to issue visas to citizens of the Republic of Belarus who wish to visit Lithuania,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Epifanov said that the mayor's office of Druskininkai appealed to the authorities of the republic with a request to issue visas to children from Belarus and allow them to come to the sanatorium for treatment and rehabilitation.

On July 11, Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko discussed by phone the situation around the restrictions imposed by Lithuania on transit to the Kaliningrad region. 

In early July, Lukashenko said that Belarus has supported and will continue to support Russia.
