The United Nations has expressed concern about reports of torture by Emirati forces and groups affiliated with them in Yemen, at a time when the Yemeni army announced on Friday the deaths of Houthi fire in several areas, despite the truce between the two sides in force.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights said it is concerned about reports of torture and ill-treatment by the UAE armed forces, its security services, and its irregular armed groups in Yemen.

The Commission held the UAE responsible for investigating crimes of torture and ill-treatment in these cases and following up on the perpetrators, and called for the creation of a viable path for victims to seek justice, redress and rehabilitation.

In another context, the Media Center of the Yemeni Armed Forces stated in a statement yesterday evening, Friday evening, that "the Houthi coup militia committed 184 violations of the UN armistice on Wednesday and Thursday on the fronts of Hodeidah and Hajjah (west), Taiz (southwest), Marib, Saada, Al-Jawf (north), and Al-Dhalea. (South)".

The statement added that these violations led to the killing of 3 and wounding of 9 other members of the Yemeni army, despite the truce between the two sides in force.

For his part, the head of the peaceful sit-in committee in Al-Mahra Governorate, Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, called on Yemenis to resist what he described as the occupation that causes hunger and poverty and violates the country's sovereignty, as he put it.

Al-Huraizi said that British and American forces, accompanied by a Yemeni force, stormed his house in the city of Al-Ghaydah in Al-Mahra Governorate, explaining that he was not present in his house at the moment of the storming.
