On July 28, local time, Mexican law enforcement officers found an abandoned truck on a highway in the state of Veracruz, which contained nearly 100 Central American migrants trying to smuggle to the United States.

According to the Civil Protection Service, 98 migrants, including children, were found at the scene.

There were more people in the car, and about 100 people are believed to have jumped out and fled.

Law enforcement officers found holes they had dug in the body and roof.

Local officials said multiple injuries were not life-threatening during the escape.

On the day of the incident, the local maximum temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius.

The law enforcement department informed that there was no water and air conditioning in the compartment of the large truck, and some people felt "hot" to the touch.

Entry into the United States from Mexico in a hidden truck is the main route for many illegal immigrants to smuggle, and many people lose their lives on the way.

Statistics from the International Organization for Migration show that since 2014, about 6,430 illegal immigrants have died or gone missing while smuggling through the United States, and 850 of them have died from car accidents or dangerous transportation.
