The Russian Ministry of Defense published on its official information resources lists of those killed and wounded as a result of the Kyiv regime’s missile attack on Ukrainian prisoners of war held in the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka.

“All political, criminal and moral responsibility for the bloody massacre against Ukrainians is borne personally by Zelensky, his criminal regime and Washington supporting them,” said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

He stressed that with a missile attack from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system on a pre-trial detention center in the Yelenovka region, "the Kyiv regime killed and maimed most of the 193 Ukrainian prisoners of war who were there."

As of the morning of July 30, 50 citizens of Ukraine were killed, the remains of 48 of them were found and removed from the rubble of the pre-trial detention center, two more died from severe wounds while being transported to a medical facility.

“73 Ukrainian prisoners of war were delivered to medical institutions with severe wounds.

All of them received the necessary medical care,” Konashenkov added.

Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that the United States and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were responsible for the attack on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka in the Donetsk People's Republic.

According to him, the purpose of the attack is to prevent the militants of the Azov national battalion from confessing their atrocities, which would lead to demands to prosecute the leaders of several NATO countries.

“Washington and Kyiv are removing witnesses to their crimes against humanity so that the citizens of European states and the United States do not turn away from them, and the supply of weapons and ammunition continues,” he wrote on the Telegram channel.

The day before, the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin, also drew attention to the fact that the attack on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka occurred after the Azov residents began to testify.

“Obviously, this is a deliberate shelling and a desire to destroy those representatives, in particular, Azov, who began to testify,” he said on Channel One.

In turn, Daniil Bezsonov, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Information of the DPR, noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the barracks where Ukrainian prisoners of war were kept.

“On the one hand, the Ukrainian circus leadership takes revenge on its warriors for surrendering and telling frank stories on camera, which upsets and spoils Vovochka’s reputation, and on the other hand, Zelensky and his combat sixes in general’s shoulder straps demonstrated their real attitude towards their own soldiers and officers : they are just dumb meat, ”he wrote in his Telegram channel.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, commenting on the missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stressed that this provocation "was committed to intimidate Ukrainian servicemen and prevent them from being taken prisoner."

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, expressed concern about the shelling.

“As a general rule, we are concerned about the improper treatment of prisoners of war,” TASS quoted him as saying.

The Pentagon admitted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the colony in Yelenovka, but they did it "unintentionally."

“If the strike was carried out by Ukrainian forces, I can tell you with confidence: first of all, it was unintentional,” a senior US military official said during a briefing.

At the same time, the White House preferred to refuse detailed comments on this matter.

According to US presidential press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Washington saw materials about the shelling, but they will not comment on what happened yet.

John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, in turn, said that the US authorities "do not have enough information to deliberately discuss these messages."
