The Khaled Al-Khatib International Prize is awarded in the following categories:

"Best work from the conflict zone"

- reports of journalists covering the course of the NWO in Ukraine;

"Best Job: Humanitarian Mission"

- stories about people in the conflict zone, helping civilians and refugees.

Works about the restoration of cities and the return to peaceful life.

The winners of the Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards 2022 will receive a cash prize of 200,000 rubles.

Works are accepted in written form and video format.

In the first year, the awards were given to contestants from Iraq, Ireland and Singapore.

In 2019, representatives of Russia, the USA, Italy and India became laureates.

In 2020, military correspondents from Russia, Syria and India received the award.

The 2021 RT Prize winners are war correspondents from Russia, the US and Yemen.

Since the founding of the award, the jury has included well-known foreign and Russian journalists, including Irada Zeynalova, Evgeny Poddubny and Alexander Kots.

The RT channel established the Khaled Alkhateb International Memorial Awards in memory of the 25-year-old journalist Khaled al-Khatib, who collaborated with RT Arabic.

He was killed in a rocket attack by militants in the Syrian province of Homs in 2017.

In his reports, Khaled covered the battles between Syrian government forces and terrorists.

In 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree posthumously awarding Khaled al-Khatib the Medal for Courage, which was presented to his family at the first award ceremony.
