NBC: Pelosi will travel with a delegation to several countries in Asia

Pelosi is expected to visit US allies in the region, including Japan and South Korea, as well as Malaysia and Singapore.

"One source who reviewed the travel plan Thursday afternoon said it listed the possibility of visiting Taiwan as 'uncertain'," NBC reported.

Pelosi will travel to Asia with House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks and House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mark Takano, who led a congressional delegation to Taiwan last year.

Earlier, the United States sent the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan towards the Taiwan Strait.
