Ludvig Ödman works everyday as a blacksmith artist in Stockaryd outside Värnamo.

His wife Anastasia Polubotko is from Ukraine and has relatives and friends still in the country, which meant that the war brought the couple very close and the desire to help was awakened.

Ludvig continued to make a drawing a day for 48 days during the start of the war.

All the cartoons have a clear connection to the war and contain satire in a kind of comic book format.

Blacksmiths without borders

When he then decided to put his drawings up for sale on social media, the interest turned out to be great.

So far, the collection has generated over SEK 70,000.

All money collected goes to "Union for Ukraine - blacksmiths without borders" which is an international group started by blacksmiths in Sweden and Norway.

They collect money to donate supplies to victims in Ukraine.

A family collaboration

With the help of Anastasia's parents, the group has been able to spread to blacksmiths around Europe as the father in the family is a blacksmith himself.

The parents then receive the supplies on site in Ukraine to distribute where needed.

In the clip above, you can hear the artist Ludvig Ödman and his wife Anastasia Polubotko talk about the significance of Ludvig's drawings.
