Iranian police said on Thursday that they had arrested a spy network working for the Israeli foreign intelligence service (Mossad) that was planning operations that it described as armed and sabotage. Last Saturday, Tehran announced the dismantling of a spy network for the Mossad.

Iranian police intelligence added that the network consisted of 5 people, including the leader of an opposition separatist group, as they described it.

She explained in a statement that the network planned to collect information on vital and sensitive facilities in exchange for funds from the Mossad.

The Iranian authorities did not reveal the nationality of the network members, but said that they had received training to carry out armed attacks and sabotage.

The statement also accused the network's members of carrying out many criminal acts, such as arson of places, writing anti-government slogans and propaganda against it, and receiving directions and support to carry out armed attacks and acts of sabotage.

Reuters reported that the Israeli Prime Minister's Office - which oversees the work of the Mossad - refused to comment on what was announced by Iranian intelligence.

terrorist operations

And the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence said last Saturday that it had arrested a spy network working for the Israeli Mossad, whose elements planned terrorist operations in sensitive areas inside the country.

The ministry said - in a statement - that the network's elements communicated with Mossad officers through a neighboring country, and entered Iran from the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The ministry added that Mossad agents were in possession of modern communications devices, powerful explosive materials and weapons, and that investigations are continuing into the existence of communications of the espionage network inside and outside Iran.

Iran and Israel have long been locked in a struggle over several issues, including the Iranian nuclear program and Tehran's regional influence, as Tehran accuses Tel Aviv of assassinating a number of its officials and scientists.

On the other hand, Tel Aviv accuses Tehran of arming a number of political forces in the anti-Iranian region.

On the other hand, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that whoever he called the enemy wants to launch military action against Iran, but he does not dare to do so.

While inspecting the Nouja air base, Raisi added that the greatest progress has been achieved in the nuclear and military industries despite the sanctions.

The Iranian president said that his country's military forces managed to circumvent the sanctions and completely neutralize their impact, considering that Iranian forces in regional and international waters are a factor of security and strength.
