Biography Colate Vallejo-Nágera: "The biggest mistake of my life has been Paulina but love blinded me"
The life of
Nicolás Vallejo-Nágera
has not been easy at all.
Known under the nickname
Colate ,
Paulina Rubio
's ex-husband
wanted to tell the whole world some of the
most unknown aspects
of his life, revealing the
sexual abuse
he experienced when he was only 13 years old or how he was immersed in the
world of drugs
overnight.
It was last May when the businessman made his debut as a writer with
his autobiography
Colate por Nicolás
, where he wanted to record his memories, revealing that the reason he wanted to tell his story was
his son, Andrea Nicolás,
with the only goal for her little boy to grow up
knowing who his father had been.
"In one of the darkest moments of my life,
I even thought that I was going to die.
I was very horrified by the idea of dying and what would happen tomorrow with my son, and I wanted my son to have a part of the version of my life for me and
not for the one they were going to tell him,"
he revealed.

Belonging to a
prominent Spanish family,
Colate dedicated his life to
creating night businesses,
a network of clubs throughout the national geography that opened the door to the most dangerous world of the night,
that of drugs.
"The Spain of the 90s was wonderful,
free, safe, permissive,
you could do absolutely anything. While I was studying my degree I started having businesses, I started having a tiny bar, it became very fashionable. Then I had a bigger bar; then another bar, another bar and there came a time when I
had many
night-time catering businesses", the businessman began by explaining to the Mexican program
Ventaneando
.
A golden age that led to the worst of outcomes: "In those crazy nights in Madrid there was a lot of drugs and
I admit that I tried many things,
on many occasions. Luckily, I knew how to handle it and
I never let it get me hooked,
but I did I tell openly", he has been honest in front of the host of the television space.
In this biography, Colate also addresses his relationships with well-known faces worldwide, such as
Julio Iglesias, Inés Sastre or Eugenia Martínez de Irujo,
among others.
However, one of the chapters that has attracted the most attention has been the one in which he talks about his relationship with Paulina Rubio and how someone predicted that his marriage to the Mexican singer would be a complete failure: "I had a complicated relationship with my father I didn't invite him to the wedding and when we left there he told me: 'This girl is going to ruin your life.' And a few months later he passed away.
Those are the last words he said to me in life."
