Films in which inmates at the Östragård prison in Vänersborg have a party in the prison premises are spreading on social media, something that Expressen was the first to report on.

In a total of five video clips, which have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, a series of things can be seen that violate the prison's rules.

This includes food, alcoholic beverages, nitrous oxide and also the mobile phone with which the whole thing is filmed.

Despite the prison's routines and rules on visitations.

How have they managed to smuggle this in?

- It is a difficult question at the moment.

This may be because it sometimes takes some time to get to know a client and before we can gain full control over the risks the person carries with them, says Pauline Hagberg, Head of Correctional Services.

Not recorded recently

Östragård in Vänersborg is an open institution for men and has the lowest security level.

The prison lacks direct escape obstacles such as walls or fences.

Instead, the prisoners are shackled.

According to Pauline Hagberg, the films should not be recorded in the present tense and the people who made the clips no longer exist.

What will happen now?

- We have already had a number of visits which have not resulted in any major seizures and we have a calm situation at the institution today.

"Not a representative picture"

At present, Pauline Hagberg cannot see that the institution has broken any routines, but believes that due to this incident there is reason to go through and possibly update rules and routines further.

She also emphasizes that what was shown in the clips is not a representative picture of a normal day in the correctional service.

- This is a deviant part, this is something that is serious.
