In the context of geopolitical tensions and the risks of an embargo, there is a steady trend towards demand and a stable demand for Russian energy resources in foreign markets, Safonova noted.

According to her, the main volume of pipeline gas imports to Europe comes from Russia.

“I note that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline system, which could solve the problem of the blue fuel shortage in Europe, was built precisely to ensure stable supplies to the EU countries,” the analyst said.

The lifting of the imposed moratorium on the certification of Nord Stream 2 would significantly improve price expectations and the macroeconomic situation in European countries against the background of market saturation with cheaper energy resources, the specialist believes.

Earlier, the Austrian chancellor announced the impossibility of imposing an embargo on gas from Russia.

Nehammer explained this by the dependence of Austrian and German industry on Russian gas.
