According to the HKTDC, the 7-day book fair recorded 850,000 visitors, and the response was overwhelming. The per capita consumption reached HK$879, an increase of HK$62 compared with last year.

The annual theme of this year's book fair is "History and Culture · Urban Writing". Citizens are very interested in cultural books on related topics, such as telling the historical stories of the Forbidden City, and actively participate in various exciting cultural activities and lectures.

She also pointed out that she is looking forward to the jewellery fair and shopping festival starting on the 29th of this month, which will continue to promote local consumption and bring more business opportunities to exhibitors.

  A number of exhibitors also stated that in response to the theme of the year, books related to history and culture are particularly popular, including the Forbidden City series, allowing readers to experience the style of the Forbidden City.

In addition, books related to life health, self-improvement and children's books are also very popular among book fans, and their sales are relatively good.

  TDC also pointed out that this summer will continue to hold a series of exciting public exhibitions, including the "Just Want to Shop" held from July 29 to August 1; the "Hong Kong" held from July 29 to August 2 International Jewellery Show" and "Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show"; "Food Expo", "Beauty and Wellness Expo" and "Home Appliances, Household Products, Expo" from August 11 to 15, and August 11 The "Hong Kong International Tea Fair" will be held from April to 13th to meet the needs of different people, while helping the industry to expand the local retail market and inject vitality into the Hong Kong economy.
