On Tuesday afternoon, the man was arrested on probable cause on suspicion of the rape that occurred last week.
According to District Attorney Tommy Sköld, the suspect denies the crime.

Arrested by off-duty police
Three days later, on Sunday afternoon, the suspect was noticed by an off-duty police officer who recognized the man's description.
The policeman alerted a patrol who shortly afterwards was able to arrest the suspected rapist in Teleborg in Växjö.
- It was a very perceptive colleague who thought he recognized the man, so the colleague interrupted his private affairs and made sure that the man could be arrested under undramatic conditions, Tim Christensson, on-call preliminary investigation leader, told Växjö News on Monday.
