A 22-year-old British man,

Jack Fenton

, who was on vacation in Mykonos (Greece), has been decapitated by the blades of the helicopter in which he was traveling with his brother and other friends after spending a few days on vacation on the island.

The boy got out of the aircraft to take a souvenir selfie but got too close to the rear propeller of the helicopter.

Thus, what seemed to be an unforgettable vacation has turned into a tragedy for this young Englishman, originally from Kent, who also traveled to Greece accompanied by his parents.

A luxury helicopter for an exclusive vacation

According to a first reconstruction of the events, the helicopter, a Bell 407 from Superior Air (a company that rents luxury aircraft), landed at the Attica heliport, 40 kilometers from Athens.

The young man, who was an Oxford student, opened the door of the helicopter, probably to take a selfie, and got out of the aircraft, but the vehicle's tail blades, which were still in operation, decapitated him.

"

He died instantly

, as he was hit in the head by the aircraft's small rear rotor," a senior police official told the London 'Times': "There was no chance he would survive, his death was instantaneous. ", has added.

Various investigations have been opened and the pilot of the aircraft is

accused of

involuntary

manslaughter for allowing the young man to get off the helicopter before it was completely turned off.

"The blades were still working when the young man disembarked and our investigation is especially focused on possible negligence. They should have been stopped when the young man left the plane," a Greek police source tells the 'Daily Mirror'.

Educated in elite schools

'The Guardian' reports that, along with the pilot, two other ground crew members have also been charged by the police.

The young man, aged 22, who before enrolling in Oxford had attended an exclusive school, Maidstone's Sutton Valence, founded in 1576.

The victim's

parents

, who had traveled with him and his friends to Mykonos, were following the young men with another helicopter.

Apparently, the pilot of the aircraft in which his parents were traveling, after seeing the scene, made a sudden maneuver so that the parents did not witness the horror, taking them directly to Athens.

There, a private jet was waiting for them that was prepared to transport the family to Great Britain.

Greek media say the 22-year-old had a mobile phone to his ear when he got off the helicopter.
