It was on July 20 that the suspect entered a pharmacy in Bomhus in Gävle and demanded to receive medicine.

He is said to have then uttered a threat to set off an explosive charge if his demands were not met.

- I cannot answer whether there is an underlying drug problem, but it is clear that he wanted medicine without having a prescription, says deputy chief prosecutor Micael Dahlberg.

Arrest pending

According to Micael Dahlberg, the man is not from Gävle but was visiting a relative in connection with the incident.

He has not yet been heard by the police and will be moved to be detained in Sandviken pending a decision on detention.

- By July 29 at the latest, he will be requested to be remanded in custody, and everything seems to indicate that right now, says Deputy Chief Prosecutor Micael Dahlberg.

The 25-year-old has previously been convicted of a number of crimes in December last year.

It is about abuse and fraud, but the judgments have been appealed to the Court of Appeal.
