The Russian Defense Ministry announced the launch of a regular ferry line from Russia to the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

As follows from the message of the department, the ships of the Oboronlogistics fleet launched a regular ferry line Yeysk - Mariupol.

“The route will be used to deliver various cargoes necessary to restore the infrastructure of Mariupol and other settlements of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics,” the ministry said.

The first car-passenger ferry "Lavrentiy" left the port of Yeysk in the direction of Mariupol.

It is noted that the ferry can hold up to 700 tons of cargo, including up to 20 trucks, and more than 130 passengers.

At the first stages, the ferry will make one round trip per day.

As noted in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the creation of all the necessary infrastructure for servicing ships continues at the destination.

Earlier, the department said that work on demining the water area was completed in the port of Mariupol.

As stated in the message of the department dated July 20, the restoration of the port infrastructure continues as planned.

Housing construction

Meanwhile, construction of residential buildings continues in Mariupol.

On July 27, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that by the end of this year, specialists from the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Defense Ministry would complete the construction of a new residential microdistrict.

“12 five-story new buildings with a total capacity of more than 2.5 thousand apartments will be built from scratch.

The building area of the quarter will be 115 hectares,” the ministry said in a statement.

To date, more than 1.3 thousand builders are working at the construction site, 150 units of special equipment are involved.

It is expected that the first two high-rise buildings will be handed over for settlement by the beginning of the new academic year - by September 1.

Last week, the head of the Russian Ministry of Construction, Irek Fayzullin, came to the city.

During his visit to Mariupol on July 21, he visited the construction sites of residential areas and got acquainted with the progress of repair and restoration work at social facilities.

According to him, the main priority in the restoration of life in Mariupol is the construction of housing and social infrastructure.

He said that by October it is necessary to run water, gas and electricity into houses that are in a satisfactory condition.

Restoration of communications

In Mariupol, on July 23, they announced the resumption of water supply in all four districts of the city.

“Water went to the central water conduits.

There were separate sections - the final points of our city.

In principle, all [high-rise buildings] have water,” said Vladimir Shekhanin, head of the emergency service of the State Unitary Enterprise “Voda Donbassa” in Mariupol.

His words are quoted by TASS.

At the same time, he clarified that water is supplied under limited pressure, since a lot of utility networks have been destroyed as a result of hostilities in the city.

The current pressure is enough to bring water to a maximum of the third floor of a multi-storey building.

According to Shekhanin, this measure allows finding and repairing damaged sections of water pipelines.

Shortly before this, the DPR Ministry of Energy reported that power supply had been restored to more than 3,000 houses in Mariupol.

We are talking about both apartment buildings and private houses.

In addition, more than 100 social facilities have been supplied with energy.
