Lufthansa cancels hundreds of flights

Due to the warning strike of ground crew workers in Germany, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, Lufthansa Airlines has canceled almost the entire flight program at its German hubs in Frankfurt and Munich, the company announced today, Tuesday in Frankfurt.

According to the company's data, the cancellations will start from today, Tuesday, until next Friday, explaining that the cancellations will include more than 1,000 flights that were supposed to have 134,000 passengers on board.

In addition to the company's hubs at Frankfurt and Munich airports, the company's flights at the airports of Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Hanover, Stuttgart and Cologne will also be affected.

Lufthansa Group usually has smaller business units there that provide services to the group and other airlines.

On Monday, the German Verdi union for service sector workers called nearly 20,000 Lufthansa ground crews for a one-day warning strike.

The ground crews include technicians and logisticians, and without their services, planes cannot take off.

Verdi rejected Lufthansa's first offer of wages, but agreed to continue negotiations on August 3-4.

According to the union's data, the company offered fixed amounts in wage increases within an 18-month period.
