Large forces of the occupation army stormed the town at ten in the evening yesterday, Monday, and surrounded the neighborhoods inhabited by the two families at the beginning and center of the town, and prevented anyone from reaching the area, before storming the two houses, evacuating their residents and demolishing them.

The occupation forces used bulldozers to demolish the home of the Assi family, while they manually demolished the home of the Marei family by demolishing its internal walls before blowing it up completely.

sudden demolition

Samih Assi, the father of captive Youssef, said - in a telephone conversation with Al-Jazeera Net - that the demolition of the two houses came suddenly, and that despite having previously received a notification of the demolition, the occupation authorities did not specify a specific time for its implementation.

Samih Asi added that 8 members of his family live in the house, while 9 members of the prisoner Yahya Merhi live in the house, adding that both houses consist of two floors, and that the demolition affected the entire building in accordance with the occupation decision.

Muhannad Mar'i, uncle of the captive, Yahya Mar'i, stated that the occupation evacuated the houses in the vicinity of the two prisoners' houses from their residents before starting the demolition process.

The two captives, Youssef and Yahya, had carried out a shooting attack with a "Carlo" rifle near the entrance to the settlement of Ariel perched on the lands of citizens in Salfit in late April, which led to the killing of an Israeli settler working as a guard for the settlement, and they managed to escape from the place and disappeared for about two days before they were killed. The occupation besieges their homes in their town and arrests them again.

Parents' arrest

The occupation forces had arrested the parents of the two prisoners, Youssef and Yahya, after carrying out the operation for a few weeks, in an attempt to pressure and intimidate them to extract their confessions, before returning and releasing them later.

Muhannad Marei also mentioned - to Al Jazeera Net - that the occupation authorities ended the investigation with the two prisoners, Yusef and Yahya, while the Israeli Supreme Court had rejected a petition submitted by the families of the two prisoners to prevent the demolition.
