“Pathogens were developed in industrial volumes”: how the world accuses the United States of dangerous biological activity

The United States has created a vast network of biological laboratories, the work of which ultimately threatens the security of all mankind.

This issue is raised in the publication of the North Korean state news agency KCNA.

“Today, the United States, ignoring international treaties and agreements, has placed many biolaboratories in dozens of countries and regions of the world, including Ukraine, and is actively accelerating the development of biochemical weapons that threaten the life and security of mankind,” the material says.

At the same time, it is noted that the distribution map of these laboratories is “fully consistent” with the map of outbreaks of diseases and viruses that have occurred around the world in recent years.

With reference to materials previously released by the Russian side, the agency recalls that in the laboratories created under the auspices of the United States in Ukraine, studies were conducted, including the hemorrhagic fever virus and pathogens that could harm the agricultural industry.

In addition, the United States "conducted a very dangerous study, which can be considered the development of biological agents for the destruction of a particular race or nation as a whole," writes KCNA.

The facts about the activities of biological laboratories in Ukraine were revealed shortly after the start of a special military operation.

In early March, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that the Russian military had received information about the activities of the military biological program funded by the Pentagon.

According to him, employees of the Ukrainian biological laboratories transmitted information to the Russian Federation about the emergency destruction of especially dangerous pathogens on February 24, including the pathogens of plague, anthrax, cholera and other deadly diseases.

Konashenkov stressed that this happened to cover up Washington's activities, which directly violate the first article of the UN Convention on the Prohibition of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons.

After the appearance of information about the work of biological laboratories, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, speaking at a hearing in the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, confirmed that there are biological research facilities in Ukraine and Washington is trying to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Russian military.

The words of the Deputy Secretary of State did not go unnoticed by the world community, so the United States began to deny its involvement in military biological activities on the territory of Ukraine.

The day after Nuland's words, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haynes said that these laboratories allegedly provided biological security.

Then, the American Permanent Representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, during a meeting of the Security Council of the organization, where the issue of biolaboratories in Ukraine was considered, stated that their work was allegedly aimed only at the healthcare sector. 

Later, the head of the RKhBZ troops, Igor Kirillov, during a briefing, said that the foundation of the son of US President Hunter Biden, Rosemont Seneca, was involved in financing the activities of biological laboratories in Ukraine.

It was noted that at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense was the correspondence of Biden Jr. with employees of the US Department of Defense Threat Reduction Office and Pentagon contractors in Ukraine.

Kirillov clarified that the presence of these materials is confirmed by the Western media.

As the head of the RCBZ troops emphasized, it follows from the content of the correspondence that Hunter Biden “played an important role in creating the financial opportunity to work with pathogens on the territory of Ukraine”, securing funding for the biological companies Black & Veatch and Metabiota working in the interests of the Pentagon.

“The true goals of the Pentagon in Ukraine are far from scientific.

So, in one of the letters, the Vice President of Metabiota notes that the company's activities will be aimed at ensuring the "cultural and economic independence of Ukraine from Russia", which is rather strange for a biotechnology company," Kirillov explained.

It is worth noting that Russia paid attention to the dangerous activities of the United States in the field of biological research long before the start of the special operation in Ukraine.

Back in 2020, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow was extremely wary of the activities of biolaboratories operating in the post-Soviet space under the auspices of the United States.

International attention

US biological activities abroad have also raised serious concerns in China.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian, Washington should provide detailed information on its actions in this area.

“If the American side wants to prove its innocence, why not open these biolabs and let international experts in for an independent investigation?”

Zhao Lijian said.

He stressed that US biological activity in Ukraine is of concern to the entire world community, and rejected claims that these data are disinformation.

“The American side is constantly advocating openness and transparency.

But, if these statements are fake, then why doesn't she release detailed information to prove that she is not guilty of anything?

Where, after all, was the $200 million invested by America spent?

What research did America do with those pathogens?

Commenting on the situation, Alexei Podberyozkin, director of the MGIMO Center for Military-Political Research, in an interview with RT, recalled that Moscow has been paying attention to Washington's dubious activities in the field of biological research outside the United States for a long time.

“The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly officially accused the United States of activities that violate obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons.

American biological laboratories are located in dozens of countries, and most of them are located along the perimeter of the borders with the Russian Federation.

They are located not only in Ukraine, but also in Georgia, and on the territory of a number of other states - the former republics of the USSR.

Dangerous research is being conducted there, including with an ethnic component,” the political scientist noted.

All this makes the accusations, which have now been made by the DPRK, quite justified, Podberyozkin emphasized.

“This, of course, cannot but worry us.

The Americans are, in effect, violating their own obligations under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Treaty.

At one time, the Russian Federation, having signed and ratified the convention, destroyed chemical weapons.

The Americans have not done this yet, citing various reasons, and have retained both chemical and biological weapons, ”the expert said.

Igor Nikulin, a former member of the UN commission on biological weapons, agrees with him.

“Now only one country in the world has hundreds of military biological laboratories on the territory of third countries and spends billions of dollars on this,” the source said.

According to him, the assertions of the American side that the research in Ukraine is scientific and aimed at the healthcare sector are untenable.

“If the program is entirely financed from the Pentagon budget, it cannot but be of a military nature.

The materials shown by the Russian Ministry of Defense directly indicate that the Americans collected DNA and RNA samples in Ukraine, developed various pathogens on an industrial scale, conducted experiments with the Crimean-Congo fever, West Nile fever.

Approximately 30% of the Ukrainian military have antibodies to these fevers, hepatitis A, B and many other dangerous diseases.

That is, experiments were carried out on military personnel, ”said Nikulin.

He expressed the opinion that, despite the pressure that the United States is exerting on a significant number of countries in the world, with certain efforts, Washington can and should be held accountable for this activity.

“If Russia manages to create an international coalition, it will be difficult for Washington to avoid responsibility for its criminal experiments,” the expert concluded.
