The first plenary session of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee in the second half of the 21st was held today (25th) at the National Assembly.

Today's first meeting for the appointment of the secretary started with greetings from the ruling and opposition judiciary committee members.

The ruling and opposition parties exchanged heartfelt greetings and fought.

People's Power, the ruling party, criticized the ruling Democratic Party, which was the majority and ruling party in the first half of the National Assembly, for undermining the spirit of parliamentary democracy by operating the Judiciary Committee in a 'winner-take-all' manner.

The opposition party, the Democratic Party, countered that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's main state affairs were to check whether it was done in accordance with due process, citing the Ministry of Justice's personnel information management team, prosecutors, and the establishment of a police department in the Ministry of Public Administration and Security.

Representative Yoo Sang-beom of People's Strength said, "The Judiciary Committee was even stigmatized as a fierce battleground, the Animal National Assembly. I hope that the standing committee's activities will be based on cooperation and consensus rather than a winner-take-all zero-sum game in the second half." "New member of the Judiciary Committee "Welcome to Hell," he said.

Rep. Jeon Joo-hye said, "I will do my best to make sure that the Judiciary Committee is not in the state of missing parliamentary democracy as it was in the first half of the year, but rather a forum for cooperation between the ruling and opposition parties.

The Democratic Party foretold a basin offensive.

After mentioning the establishment of a personnel information management team in the Ministry of Justice and the establishment of a police department in the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, Rep. Kim Nam-guk said, "I am concerned that various administrations of the government were conducted in an illegal and expedient way while the National Assembly was not formed. The standing committee has to decide whether the administration is in accordance with the regulations,” he said.

Rep. Choi Kang-wook said, "There seems to be a lot of expectations and concerns about the Judiciary Committee while people are still concerned about the government ruled by the prosecution and the country ruled by the prosecution." I hope it will become a forum for discussion for the rule of law and democracy."

A war of nerves continued between the ruling and opposition parties over the schedule of each government department's work report, which will begin soon.

Rep. Kim Eui-gyeom of the Democratic Party said in a remarks during the proceedings, "I hope that the Judiciary Committee will spend enough time to receive a detailed report on the work given that the National Assembly has been idling for 53 days with unfamiliar beginners."

Kim Nam-guk, a member of the same party, also said, "In the second half of the National Assembly, there are a lot of policies that have changed because the government has changed. So there are things that did well, but there are also many things that did not go well and there are many points to be criticized." I would like to secure enough time for about 5 days to receive it.”

In response, Kim Do-eup, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, who came from the People's Power, pointed out, "In the first half of the National Assembly, the Democratic Party conducted a business report independently for three days without consulting with the opposition party."

Meanwhile, the Judiciary Committee appointed Jeong Jeong-shik of the People's Power and Dong-min Dong of the Democratic Party as secretary of the ruling and opposition parties, respectively.
