Ahead of this summer, the Region's health protection has stepped up its work together with the tavern owners in Visby and produced a guide to self-monitoring of music noise and a checklist.

"The level of music in the inner city better than in many years"

- I have had several meetings and briefings with the Region.

It feels great that they seek us out so that everyone is happy and we don't disturb the neighbours.

And we do our own checks, follow their guidance, says Kovan Zaki who is operations manager at Rosengården.

Praise from the residents

- They have even measured their music volumes themselves on the street outside their pubs, says Agneta Emmervall, chairman of Visby Innerstadsförening with roughly 350 households as members.

- We do regular noise measurements and there are many who behaved much better than in previous years, says Jonatan Levin at Region Gotland's health protection.

But just this week, the complaints have poured in.

In the first half of week 29, the Region has received as many complaints as all the previous summer weeks combined this year.
