“We want military bases to be placed in our region on a permanent basis,” he told RIA Novosti.

Rogov noted that only after the referendum was held and the Zaporozhye region became part of Russia, it makes sense to have a more substantive conversation about the deployment of permanent military units.

“Russia does not leave its territory and does not withdraw its troops, so we are sure that this will also be the case with the Zaporozhye Territory, which seeks to become a region within the Russian Federation,” he concluded.

Earlier, Rogov reported that Ukrainian troops carried out a massive artillery shelling of the region, and the air defense system worked.

According to him, the Ukrainian authorities intend to cause maximum damage to the infrastructure of the region.
