On Saturday, Thérése Juel drove daughter and family to Ånge station.
With the ongoing disruption to train traffic, the son-in-law called SJ several times to confirm the departure time.
SJ confirmed that the original departure time of 18:24 had been brought forward to 20:14 due to the fact that connecting buses from Östersund, among others, would arrive.
With just over an hour to go, the situation feels under control, Thérése Juel says.
- We will get there when the clock starts to approach 19:20.
Then my son-in-law receives a notice in his app that the departure time has been changed to 19:18.
So when we roll into the station, we see the train leaving the platform.
Several travelers were affected
But it wasn't just them who missed the train, according to Thérése Juel.
- Everyone who took the connecting bus from Östersund left after 20:14.
Some were hungry, so some put their bags on the train and went to the store to buy something - only to see the train pull away an hour earlier with their luggage.
SJ confirms the hastily changed departure time.
- It's not good and I can't help but regret.
We will of course investigate further what has happened, says Leila Fogelholm, press communicator SJ, who adds:
- I would like to urge all those affected to send in any costs incurred as a result of this, she says.
After the missed departure, Thérése Juel's daughter and family have now been rebooked to a departure on Sunday afternoon.
- A taxi will come to pick them up here in Svenstavik, so I don't have to drive, says a slightly relieved Thérése Juel.
