Man-made garbage has been discovered on Mars, which has not yet been visited by humans.

According to foreign media such as CNN on the 21st (local time), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Mars Rover Perseverance has caught an unexpected object on the red sand of Mars.

According to the report, on the 12th, a long and thin string-shaped object was photographed by the risk avoidance camera on the left front of Perseverance.

NASA officials speculate that the object may have fallen off during the perseverance landing.

A spokesperson for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Perseverance Operations Team in Pasadena, Calif., said the object is likely part of a "rocket-powered jetpack" used to safely land perseverance on the surface of Mars. .

"Perseverance had never been to the area where the object was found before taking this photo," he added.

Perseverance found the same location again four days after shooting, but the object was said to have disappeared.

Perseverance is currently exploring the 'Jezero Crater', believed to be an ancient delta, looking for traces of life that may have lived on Mars billions of years ago.

This isn't the first time Perseverance has accidentally caught human-touched objects after landing on Mars.

Last June, Perseverance published a photo of a piece of aluminum foil caught in the cracks in the stone and sparkling.

"The object is part of a thin thermal blanket that regulates the probe's temperature," the team said.

On the other hand, netizens who saw the photos taken by Perseverance showed reactions such as, "Even though humans have not yet reached it, man-made garbage is already polluting the planet" and "It is a symbolic scene that raises awareness."
