The statistical book issued by the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman recently revealed that 4,313 licenses were issued for a professional institution during the past year 2021, an increase of nearly 1,900 licenses compared to the previous year 2020, stressing that inspections and control of industrial facilities amounted to 6,197 operations last year, as part of the municipality’s efforts in the public health and environment sector.


The municipality’s report identified the transactions completed during the Public Health and Environment Electronic System 2021, where the system received 679 requests for the release of hazardous chemicals, 470 requests to issue a message to whom it may concern for environmental purposes, 226 requests to purchase additional boxes or bags for medical waste, and 70 requests to treat medical waste for facilities. health services, 13 applications for accreditation of environmental services companies, and 60 applications for issuing a license to drill a new well.

The report also showed that 22 requests for approval of environmental vehicles, 5 requests for detection of hazardous wastes, 13 requests for environmental consultations, 5 requests for export approval of chemicals, 8 requests for approval of new swimming pools, 1 request for approval of hazardous waste treatment systems, and 16 requests for containers were received. , And one request to transport household waste.


The Ajman Municipality report indicated that 11,615 inspections of facilities were organized last year, 3,084 warnings were issued, 18 health pest control companies were approved, and 13 support companies (HACCP) were approved, while field work issued by the Public Health Department (classification of samples) showed monitoring of 9,399 samples are valid, and 1834 are invalid samples.


The report indicated that public health pest control operations amounted to 10,800 in government departments, 528 campaigns in schools, 5038 campaigns in homes, and 13,728 campaigns in mosques, and 389,813 garbage barrels were sprayed with pesticides, in addition to 117,751 other campaigns.

The report pointed out that 12446 samples were examined in food and environment laboratories, which were divided into 11,166 samples in food laboratories and 1,280 samples in environment laboratories, noting that food laboratories samples were divided into 366 consulting samples, 1615 export samples, 4,625 import samples, 798 periodic surveys, 3,426 routine samples and 83 samples Complaint, 26 reference samples, 181 food label approval, one returned sample, and 45 other food samples.

The environment laboratories samples were divided into 396 other environmental samples represented in fertilizers, factory and facility waste, cosmetics, plastic bags and reference samples, and 884 water samples represented in swimming pool water, groundwater, marine samples, treated water, sewage samples and other water samples.
