And if the month of August was spared by the Covid-19?

After a month and a half of increase, the number of positive cases in Ile-de-France fell sharply in week 28 (W28, from July 11 to 18), according to the latest figures published by Public Health France (SPF).

While there were 165,229 cases the previous week, there are only 101,504 in S28, a drop of around 38.6%.

But above all, all the other indicators are down.

Thus, “the regional positivity rate showed a decrease in S28 and decreased for the 1st time after 7 consecutive weeks of increase”, indicates SPF.

Similarly, the regional crude incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) fell from 1,333 in S27 to 819 in S28.

Unfortunately, only the number of hospital deaths did not decrease, going from 74 in W27 to 104 in W28, this shift being explained by the fact that the possible death occurs several days or weeks after the infection.

Our dossier on Covid-19

Nevertheless, despite this good news, SPF is not getting carried away and on the contrary remains measured: "These indicators remain at high levels, great vigilance must be maintained in the weeks to come in the context of the summer holidays conducive to collective activities. , still incomplete vaccination coverage […] and the attrition of individual and collective immunity.

So let's rejoice, but in moderation.
