[Global Times Comprehensive Report] There is another problem with Taiwan's self-made weapons and equipment.

After the former Taiwan-made "Yushan Ship" was mocked as a "submarine" due to water leakage, the first thousand-ton patrol ship built by the Taiwan Shipping Company was recently revealed to have a problem.

According to a report by Taiwan's pro-green media "Liberty Times" on the 21st, Taiwan's "Executive Yuan" approved the "Development Plan for the Construction of Coastal Cruisers", six of which are 1,000-ton patrol ships, all built by Taiwanese ships.

After the completion of the first ship numbered CG1001, the launching ceremony was held at the Keelung Plant of Taiwan Shipbuilding in September last year. It was originally expected to be delivered in March this year, but it was delayed for some reason.

After that, the ship reported a major accident in July.

The Taiwanese ship said that the thousand-ton patrol ship is equipped with Zhenhai rockets, machine guns, machine guns and other weapon systems, and must be driven into the dock for radar and compass measurements. The "pier" (dock equipment) was crooked, and the dock was urgently undocked. The same situation happened on the 13th.

Unexpectedly, on July 15, during the pumping process of the patrol ship entering the dock, it tilted shortly after touching the "side pier". After emergency water injection and righting, it was found that two blades were damaged.

The Taiwanese ship said that it will carry out the fourth "seat pier" at the Keelung Plant on a scheduled date and replace the blades. It is expected to be delivered to the ship for acceptance in August.

Taiwan's "Coastal Inspection Agency" stated that there were staff on the patrol ship at the time of the incident, but fortunately no one was injured.

According to Taiwanese media, the slipping error of "sit on the pier" is not "sit up", which is encountered by all shipyards. It is a basic technology.

However, Taiwan Ship Keelung Plant has repeatedly encountered similar problems with the same warship, "representing a problem in the management of the entire shipyard, especially the Kaohsiung Plant's 'Yushan Ship' had a lot of water leakage during the fifth-stage test in early May, and water accumulated in the hull."

There are also analysts who say that the slippage of the "sit" of the thousand-ton ships shows that there are serious hidden dangers in the construction quality of Taiwanese ships, and such ships will not play a big role in practical application in the future.

On the other hand, in the mainland, such loopholes are rarely seen in the "pillars" of aircraft carriers with tens of thousands of tons and large ships with tens of thousands of tons.

In recent years, Taiwan-made weapons have frequently failed.

In November 2015, the "Tuojiang Ship" of the Taiwan Army had serious structural defects, making the warship unsuitable for use.

In June 2018, the out-of-zone anti-runway cluster cruise missile mass-produced by the Taiwan Air Force and the Navy's "Haijian-2" air defense missile both failed to launch during the "Hanguang" exercise.

In October 2021, during a Taiwanese F-16V fighter exercise, it was suspected that the fuselage was injured by fragments of artillery shells fired by its own Taiwan-made machine gun.

In February this year, Taiwan's "Chinese Academy of Sciences" broke out a major military purchase fraud case. There were major quality problems in the important parts of Taiwan's self-produced "Tiangong" missile and its supporting weapon system.

In March, the prototype ship of Taiwan's "self-built submarine" project may have some variables in its launch plan next year.

In May, in addition to the "Yushan Ship" leaking water, the Taiwan-made "light and heavy sniper rifles" failed the test.
