At lunchtime on Friday, the alarm came that a truck had torn down a power line over the railway track in Gällö in Bräcke municipality, causing train traffic between Sundsvall and Storlien to stop for the rest of Friday, reported P4 Jämtland.

Later, the Swedish Transport Administration announced on its website that the section Stockholm–Gävle–Östersund is also affected.

- There are four trains that are affected today and about a hundred passengers.

The travelers who have not started the journey have received information via SMS.

You can rebook or cancel at no extra cost, says Leila Fogelholm at SJ's press service to TT during the evening.

Stranded in Ånge

The trains don't come any further than Ånge.

According to SJ, the travelers who were stranded there had to be taken to a hotel.

Replacement buses will be deployed on Saturday.

Many travelers were stranded in Ånge on Friday.

- We are chasing replacement traffic, but it is very difficult to get buses.

We only have one or two buses available, so it will take time to get all passengers to their final destinations, says Tor Kangas at Vy Tåg's press service to P4 Jämtland.

The problem is expected to persist over the weekend

Katarina Wolffram at the Swedish Transport Administration's press service initially said that it was a work vehicle that tore down a contact line.

- Our accident manager is just on site and says that it will "take a while" to fix the line, unfortunately we still have no forecast for when the lines can be set up again, she told SVT.

During Friday evening, the Swedish Transport Agency writes on its website that the forecast is that the problem will not be solved until Monday.
