Intensive work is now underway to get more women on this year's nomination list for the Christian Democrats.

During the year, the chairman of the nomination committee, Lovisa-Teolinda Gjorgjieva, worked to get more women on the nomination list.

She is satisfied with the result.

- No woman who wants to be on the list has been refused, she says.

Uneven distribution also among the Sweden Democrats

After the Christian Democrats, the Sweden Democrats have the most uneven distribution in the municipal council, with 22 percent women.

- We at the Sweden Democrats Södertälje reward the merits of our candidates rather than basing it on gender or ethnicity.

We are open to anyone who shares our values being able to run, regardless of gender or ethnicity, says group leader Andreas Birgersson.

Of the county's 26 municipalities, the gender imbalance is greatest in Södertälje, Ekerö and Upplands-Bro.

The least difference is in the Värmdö municipal council.
