There were plenty of strollers and lunch guests at "Stråket" on Friday.

This despite the wind and the sunshine that was obscured by a thick cloud cover.

After a two-year hiatus, the joy is palpable in Östersund.

Carina Wall was out on the usual dog walk that runs along the quay.

She intends to visit the Strip in the evening, she says.

- It's great that it's open again.

The whole town comes alive.

Two hard years

Restaurateur Tomas Isaksson is back after two difficult years.

It is the twentieth year he has been with Stråket.

The big challenge has been finding staff after two years of a pandemic.

Many left the industry.

- When there is an interruption like this, it is difficult, but it has gone well for us.

Our old staff came back, he says.

Been longing

Another of the many visitors was Östersund resident Marie Louise Östlund.

- It's great that it's open again, I've been longing for this, she says.
