The representative of the Lithuanian company Mantas Dubauskas announced this on the air of LRT radio.

“As we informed our partners, such transportation is subject to goods that are necessary for the Kaliningrad region of Russia,” Dubauskas is quoted by TASS.

As Interfax clarifies with reference to the LTS Cargo freight company owned by Lithuanian Railways, transit will resume on Friday, July 22. 

On July 13, the European Commission announced that rail transit to Kaliningrad is allowed subject to the control of goods.

On June 17, the Lithuanian Railways notified the Kaliningrad Railways of stopping the transit of a number of sanctioned goods.
