The Governor of the region Alexei Dyumin expressed condolences in connection with the death of Konoplev.

The governor noted that Dmitry Konoplyov was an outstanding leader and a talented organizer.

“He did a lot for the country's defense industry, for the Tula region, made a great contribution to the development of the defense industry,” the governor said.

Dyumin called Konoplyov a true patriot of his country and a very sympathetic person.

Earlier it was reported that Valentin Shiyan, Honored Coach of the USSR in handball, died at the age of 82.
