The state of health of US President Joe Biden has improved since his positive Covid test on Thursday, his personal doctor announced on Friday in a letter released by the White House.

"His symptoms have improved," wrote Dr. Kevin O'Connor, adding that the 79-year-old leader had a very small fever, 37.4 degrees, Thursday evening.

Joe Biden continues to experience fatigue, a runny nose and an occasional cough, the doctor said.

Joe Biden received a full vaccination against Covid-19, with two booster doses, recalled Dr. O'Connor, adding that he therefore expected the president to "respond favorably" to his viral infection.

“The president is supporting the treatment well,” he added, referring to paxlovid, the Pfizer anti-Covid pill he prescribed for Joe Biden.

Still according to Dr. O'Connor, the Democrat, who works in solitary confinement at the White House, is also given paracetamol and resorts if necessary to an inhaler diffusing a bronchodilator drug.
