But now - the most important topics of the day at a glance.

tense clinical situation

: Even if that doesn't fit into the pre-summer holiday mood, it has to be written.

Hesse is facing a tough Corona summer.

The number of new infections is increasing.

The same applies to corona-related hospital admissions.

"In the last two weeks we have seen a significant increase in patients who come to us because of the corona virus and not with it," says Jürgen Graf, medical director of the Frankfurt University Hospital.

The majority of clinics in Hesse have long since switched to postponing planned interventions.

Beds and staff are needed elsewhere.

Even the hospital staff is not spared from corona infections.

According to Graf, the high level of sick leave is made more difficult by the fact that the staff situation on the wards is not ideal due to holidays.

The university clinic is trying to avoid the problem with a special regulation.

So may

the staff work even if the corona swab is positive

.

Of course only if there are no symptoms.

Infected but not ill staff must adhere to strict hygiene regulations that have been coordinated with the Frankfurt Health Department.

This is only an offer to the staff and is based on a voluntary basis - after all, the employer is not allowed to ask about the reason for the illness or how the illness has progressed.

Fever juices are running out:

the child is literally glowing - a fever juice should help.

But it is currently difficult to obtain.

The market has been swept empty, supplies are faltering.

Editor Monika Ganster asked someone who must know why.

Pharmacist Nojan Nejatia.

He runs the Heegbach pharmacy in Erzhausen near Darmstadt.

Because the active ingredients are only manufactured by a few companies, it is immediately noticeable if something goes wrong in the chain, he explains.

Because drug production for the German market takes place primarily in China and India, this creates incalculable dependencies, especially in times of crisis.

Explanations help to understand the problem.

But they don't help the parents, who in turn want to help their children.

That is why Nejatia decided

To produce fever juices in-house.

This is of course more expensive than in wholesale

– and it also means more effort.

But at least an offer will be created.

Concert cancellations due to lack of staff:

Bad news for all those who like to go to festivals and big concerts.

Just because it's legally possible (even if it doesn't necessarily make sense given the current Corona numbers) doesn't mean that the tickets you buy will ultimately result in a concert or festival experience.

Because the organizers report an acute shortage of helpers

.

There is a lack of every nook and cranny to be able to handle the complex infrastructure required for a major event.

Sometimes there is only one option: the event has to be cancelled.

The Frankfurt organizer “Live Nation GmbH” has only just done that.

He had actually planned to hold the Wireless Germany music festival again in Rebstockpark - with up to 75,000 participants.

But the lack of personnel thwarted his plans.

The problem concerns the whole industry.

According to estimates by the Federal Association of the Concert and Event Industry (BDKV) ,

around 30 to 40 percent of the former staff have switched

to other sectors
