An electrical fault in Hallsberg and a fire between the tracks on the section between Hallsberg and Laxå are causing extensive problems on the Västra stambanan on Thursday afternoon.

Train traffic between Hallsberg and Laxå has been stopped and trains are stationary at stations along the route.

A train on its way to Stockholm has been evacuated between two stations near Skövde, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.

There are also stops on the Södra stambanan, between Hässleholm and Lund.

This is due to a catenary fault.

The error affects, among other things, trains on the routes Stockholm C-Malmö C and Copenhagen.

No forecast yet

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, there is currently no forecast for when traffic on the routes can start again.

A large number of departures are affected.

“Delays and canceled departures are to be expected during the afternoon / evening.

Unfortunately, your trip risks taking much longer than normal, so if you have the opportunity to travel another day, we ask you to rebook your trip ", writes SJ on its website about the stop on Västra stambanan.

On Wednesday, a train stop between Mjölby and Linköping caused problems for train traffic between Stockholm and Malmö.

Hundreds of passengers were stuck for just over four hours, before the error was rectified at 7 p.m.
