Shein makes ultra fast fashion clothes that are popular with the youth, although the Chinese company doesn't care about sustainability.

The fact that the brand with the most visited fashion website in the world doesn't care about intellectual property has now become public through a letter of protest from the Mexican Ministry of Culture.

It had asked the company why one of Shein's $7 T-shirts featured a floral pattern originally used by Mayans in Mexico.

The government is following the complaint by the Mexican manufacturer Yucachulas, who first made the design plagiarism of their tops public on social media.

According to Yucachulas, the takeover by a low-cost company hurts the craftsmen who made their living from the embroidery.

Textile designs, especially those of the indigenous peoples of Mexico, are repeatedly copied by large companies despite vehement protests.

In fact, if you compare the original and the Shein copy, you can only find one difference: one features handmade embroidery, the other is made of cheap fabric.
