After the pandemic, large crowds have found their way back to Barcelona's La Rambla parade street.

Now there are restrictions on how many tourist groups are allowed to visit popular places, one-way traffic for guided tours and several other restrictions and to reduce tourism in the city. 

Barcelona's authorities also want to limit the effects of tourists who come only for the day, for example from cruise ships, and do not stay in the city.

SVT has met the friends of the Rambla, an association of residents, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who live and work around Barcelona's La Rambla parade street.

Their vision of the hospitality industry is far from the prevailing mass tourism.
