"To preserve Jordan's interests and not to weaken it." The Palestinians reject the proposal to travel through Ramon Airport

The Palestinian Al-Quds Network reported that the Palestinian Authority rejected the project to allocate the Israeli "Ramon" airport for Palestinian travel from the West Bank to the world, due to political considerations.

She said that among these considerations is "preserving Jordan's interests and the relationship with it and not weakening it."

This comes in light of the escalation of a heated debate between Jordan and the Palestinians on the one hand and Israel on the other hand about the difficulties and obstacles facing travelers through the "King Hussein Bridge" or what is known as the "Allenby Bridge", which connects the Palestinians to the world through Jordan, where they continue to travel after that from Queen's Airport Alia Al-Urduni, who will face a major blow if the new project is completed.

The Israeli newspaper, "Israel Hayom", reported Israeli preparations by the Airports Authority to operate the first international flights for the Palestinians from Ramon Airport, near the city of Eilat in southern Israel, which will depart from there to Istanbul in Turkey.

The report stated that if these flights are actually launched, the step will be considered historic, as it will enable the Palestinians to travel abroad for the first time without passing through Jordan, as is currently the case, noting that the airline that is preparing to operate direct flights to the Palestinians from Ramon Airport is a company The Turkish "Pegasus", which currently operates direct flights to Turkey from Ben Gurion Airport.

The report stated that the process of transferring the Palestinians to Ramon Airport will be carried out as part of an organized and controlled process, as they will be able to travel from Israel to spend the holiday in Turkey.

This initiative is part of a series of facilities for the Palestinians being studied these days, which comes after US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel and the West Bank.
