In total, the investment includes just over two million kroner over five years.

Next year, SEK 650,000 has been set aside for the project that will make Kinda known as the "Kingdom of the Sea" and the project will probably be evaluated in 2025.

- It is quite natural because there are an incredible number of lakes in Kinda.

We usually say that you can swim in a new lake every day if you want, says Malin Forsberg who is responsible for communications at Kinda municipality.

Want to be the center of attention

Like most municipalities, Kinda wants to attract more tourists.

When the Lalandia project in the neighboring municipality of Motala is completed, the municipality hopes to become an important center for those who want to visit Astrid Lindgren's world in Vimmerby, Lalandia in Motala and Kolmården in Norrköping.

- Our tourists are incredibly important and we have many entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry.

I would say that it would be excellent to start from Kinda and make a longer stop on the way, says Malin Forsberg.

Launched during the pandemic

The project was launched during the pandemic about a year ago, which meant that they did not quite reach the new name that they had hoped for.

- The implementation job has been very delayed.

But everyone recognizes themselves in Sjöriket Kinda.

Have you noticed any concrete changes since the brand was introduced?

- No, not like that and it's not something we measure either.

But we are starting to see that the logo itself has started to spread, says Malin Forsberg.

"More marketing"

Ann-Louise Södersten is responsible for tourism in the municipality.

According to her, the foreign tourists have found their way back to Kinda after the pandemic, especially from Kinda and the Netherlands.

When asked how Kinda municipality can attract even more tourists, she answers:

- More marketing is needed.
