Louise Adermark got on a train in Falköping to go to Stockholm.

After leaving a station, she was told that the train would receive passengers who had been evacuated from another train, and then turn around and drop them off in Skövde.

The evacuated train had left Gothenburg at 11 o'clock and was thus back in Skövde - usually just over an hour by train - over five hours later.

Several of the passengers on Louise Adermark's train were on their way to a Lady Gaga concert at Friends arena in Stockholm.

- Even though many are very disappointed, many understand that these are very extreme circumstances.

Forced to back up in the heat

About 50 SJ departures are affected by the problems, which were caused by electrical faults and a fire.

On its website, the train company advises travelers to rebook their journeys.

The high temperatures also cause extra problems - and several trains that have already departed are now forced to turn around, as they risk being left without electricity in the heat.

- The trains are driven back to their place of departure, whether they will be driven back all the way is not yet decided, a decision is made for each train, says Peter Krameus at SJ's press service.
