US President: I suffer from cancer, and the White House is quick to clarify (video)

US President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he has cancer, explaining that his injury is due to oil refinery emissions in his childhood home in Delaware.

"I grew up with cancer," Biden said, during a speech on the occasion of climate change, pointing the finger at oil refinery emissions that were near his childhood home in Claymont, Delaware, according to the New York Post.

"That's why me and a lot of other people, we grew up with cancer, and why Delaware has long had one of the highest rates of cancer in the nation," Biden continued.

However, the White House quickly denied, confirming that Biden was suffering from skin cancer, and that he received treatment before reaching the presidency.

The newspaper said it was not clear why Biden used the present tense to describe his cancer.

And Joe Biden, at 79, is the oldest president in US history, which makes his health a special concern.

The New York Times said that for nearly all Democrats interviewed, Biden's age represented a deep concern about his political ability.

Respondents said Biden, who has built a reputation for "slips of the tongue", has repeatedly upset global diplomacy with unexpected remarks that his staff at the White House, where he has sat down to give interviews, have repeatedly undone than any of his predecessors.
