Three people compete, Sri Lanka will elect a new president today
[Global Times Comprehensive Report] Sri Lanka's parliament announced the list of presidential candidates on the 19th. They are interim President Wickremesinghe, parliament's largest party The People's Front Party member Allah Peruma and the leader of the National People's Power Party Die Sanayake.
According to Sri Lanka's "Daily Mirror" report on the 19th, the Sri Lankan parliament officially accepted the nomination of Sri Lanka's new president that morning, and will elect a new president from the above three people by secret ballot on the 20th.
Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Power Party leader Premadasa announced his withdrawal from the election on the 19th, in favor of Allah Peruma.
