The State Department suggested that Iran supported the Russian special operation in Ukraine

Commenting on Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's statement, Price stressed that he "unequivocally endorsed" the Russian special operation.

“This is especially striking because Iran has been trying to maintain a semblance of neutrality all this time,” TASS quoted a State Department spokesman as saying.

According to Price, Iran joined the group of countries that "created the appearance of neutrality."

Khamenei earlier during negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if NATO had not been stopped in Ukraine, then after a while he would have started a war under the pretext of Crimea.
