The European Commissioner admitted that the proposals of the EU on saving gas could become mandatory

He noted that at the moment it is not possible to replace the entire volume of gas from Russia with energy resources from other sources.

“Therefore, it is necessary to start saving.

So far, it is proposed to do this on a voluntary basis, but in the event of an emergency situation, the recommendations will become mandatory for EU member states, ”TASS quotes the European Commissioner.

The Brussels proposal calls for a 15% reduction in fuel consumption for a period of eight months.

Earlier, German Vice-Chancellor, Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck, in an interview with Der Spiegel, said that against the background of the energy crisis in the country, he reduced the time to take a shower.

In April, the Bild newspaper advised Germans to wash like a cat, avoid soap and shower less often in order to get rid of their “energy dependence” on Russia.
