On July 19, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian held a regular press conference.

When asked by reporters, US State Department spokesperson Price said in response to the inquiry that according to the so-called "Taiwan Relations Act", the United States is obliged to provide Taiwan with necessary defense supplies and services so that Taiwan can maintain sufficient self-defense capabilities, which is fully in line with the United States, One China policy.

What is China's comment?

Zhao Lijian said that yesterday we made clear China's solemn position on the new round of US arms sales to Taiwan.

I would like to reiterate that China firmly opposes and strongly condemns it.

We have lodged solemn representations with the US side on this.

The so-called "Taiwan Relations Act" is a domestic law unilaterally concocted by the United States, which seriously violates universally recognized international law and basic norms governing international relations, and runs counter to the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiques.

China has never recognized it and has always opposed it.

The U.S. has no right to brag about such a domestic law, interfere in China's internal affairs, and sell weapons to Taiwan.

Whether it is the one-China principle or the one-China policy, the core is one China.

Recognizing Taiwan as part of China is a solemn commitment made by the US side in the three Sino-US joint communiques.

Zhao Lijian pointed out that the U.S. insists on selling arms to Taiwan, which seriously violates the one-China principle and the three Sino-U.S. joint communiques.

The US should immediately stop arms sales and military ties with Taiwan, stop creating tensions in the Taiwan Strait, and implement the US government's statement that it does not support "Taiwan independence".
