Emirates Health Services combats diseases transmitted through insects

Dr. Youssef Al-Sarkal: «The Foundation is working on developing work tools and the efficiency of human cadres, in parallel with the development plans of the facilities».

The Director-General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, Dr. Youssef Muhammad Al-Sarkal, stated that the Corporation has included the control of diseases transmitted through insects within its activities.

He said that it is working to develop the methodology of medical and statistical research, with the aim of finding therapeutic solutions for many diseases.

In detail, Al Serkal confirmed to "Emirates Today" that the Foundation's Data and Statistics Department conducted 68 various medical studies and research on various diseases and medical practices last year, including 21 researches related to "Covid-19".

He added that the Foundation recently conducted four surveys and five specialized medical questionnaires, to complete a series of studies and research aimed at developing medical solutions for many diseases.

Al Serkal stressed that the Public Health Services Department in the Corporation has raised the pace of work and development on national programs, such as the malaria control program, adding the control of other diseases transmitted through insects within its activities, monitoring indicators related to achieving sustainable development goals, diversifying innovation in the provision of medical and treatment services, and the use of advanced technology. And techniques to develop innovative specialized health services to provide telemedicine services to ensure the implementation of all national health programs, and to build on the positive outcomes that have been achieved in this aspect.

He pointed out that the Corporation's strategy includes strengthening the management of public health services provided in primary health care centers, by following up the activities of smoking cessation clinics, developing traveller's clinic services, and raising the efficiency of health workers, in addition to focusing the Emergency Operations Center on the initiative of the Operational Center, which It works 24 hours a day, to follow up and monitor vital functions, receive reports related to the facilities of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, and raise the readiness of the facilities.

He stressed that the departments affiliated to the Corporation are working to develop work tools and the efficiency of human cadres performance in parallel with the development plans of the facilities.
