China's ambassador to the United States urges Washington to adhere to the policy of "one China"

According to the diplomat, Washington is currently stripping the content of this policy and blurring its concept, increasing the level of ties with Taiwan and sending weapons there.

Gang stressed that Beijing does not want a war with Taiwan and will do everything for a peaceful reunification with the region.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has previously said that the United States does not support Taiwanese independence, however, he said that it is "vital" for Taiwan to have weapons for defense.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that the United States expects serious consequences due to the encouragement by the American authorities of separatism in Taiwan.
