The US State Department's statements about Russia's "international isolation" are not true and are an attempt to pass off wishful thinking.

This was stated at the Russian Embassy in the United States.

“We paid attention to the statement of the press service of the State Department that our country was allegedly cut off from the rest of the world economically, politically, culturally and diplomatically.

Such words are nothing more than wishful thinking.

The Russian leadership is actively involved in international processes and is in constant contact with the leaders of most states in the world.

Even in the West, they are increasingly talking about the lack of alternative dialogue with Russia to solve global problems, ”the statement posted on the embassy’s Telegram channel says.

This is how the Russian diplomatic department reacted to the words of US State Department spokesman Ned Price, who said at a briefing on July 18 that the Russian Federation was allegedly isolated from the whole world diplomatically, politically and economically.

“Whatever we hear from the Kremlin, the fact is that Russia has found itself economically, politically, diplomatically, financially isolated from the rest of the world ... These costs have increased as we have taken new measures, coordinated them with our allies and partners, and they ... have gotten worse and will get worse over time as they begin to have an impact and gain momentum,” Price said.

In addition, the representative of the State Department noted that the Russian delegation at the G20 summit of foreign ministers allegedly received a signal from other participants in the meeting that business with Moscow would no longer be done as before.

“The Russian Federation has received a very clear signal that business is not being conducted in the usual manner and will not be conducted.

The same message was repeated during the G20 finance ministers' meeting just a couple of days ago, and it will be consistently conveyed to Russia over and over again,” Price said.

The Russian embassy called these allegations "outright fiction."

“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov (at the summit of G20 foreign ministers. -

) held a number of productive meetings with colleagues from other countries,” the diplomatic mission said in a statement.

The Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Lyudmila Vorobyeva, spoke in a similar way.

She told RIA Novosti that during the G20 ministerial summit "there was a queue for bilateral meetings" with Sergey Lavrov, so "it was very difficult to include everyone in the schedule."

According to the Russian diplomatic mission in the United States, the unsubstantiated statements of the States about the “isolation of the Russian Federation” resemble a “self-hypnosis session”.

“Instead of recognizing the impossibility of abolishing Russia, here they prefer to indulge themselves in illusions.

We see this as a desire to convince US citizens of the justification for the anti-Russian course and illegitimate Western sanctions, which turn out to be large costs for their initiators, ”the embassy stressed.

Instead of isolation

It is worth noting that not everyone in the West shares the White House's point of view.

Thus, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said in July that at the G20 summit of foreign ministers, the United States and its allies could not convince the rest of the participants in the event to join the Western position on Ukraine.

“In terms of condemning Russia, sanctions against it and the desire to hold the regime accountable, the G7 countries, together with their like-minded people, take a unified position.

But other countries, including most of the countries of the global South, often take a different point of view,” Borrell said in a statement posted on the website of the European Commission.

He also stated that there is now a “battle of narratives” going on in the world, which the West is “not winning”.

“The global battle of narratives is in full swing, and we are not currently winning,” said the head of European diplomacy.

According to analysts, the failure of the Western strategy to isolate Russia is also indicated by the development of Moscow's cooperation with countries such as China, India, Iran, Turkey, and the states of Latin America.

For example, Russian trade with China increased by more than 27% over the six months of 2022 and exceeded $80.6 billion. In addition, according to media reports, Russia has become one of the leaders in oil exports to India.

Experts also remind that most of the countries of the world have not joined the new Western sanctions against the Russian Federation, introduced after the start of a special military operation to protect Donbass.

An important indicator of the failure of attempts to isolate the Russian Federation is the expansion of the work of international platforms in which Moscow plays a key role.

In particular, this is evidenced by the intentions of a number of states to join the BRICS format.

Argentina, Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia plan to become members of this organization.

Their accession to the BRICS can be formalized as early as 2023 at the summit of the group in South Africa, the Izvestia newspaper reported, citing the president of the international forum of this association, Purnima Anand.

"The unipolar world is no more"

Political scientists interviewed by RT agree that the attempts of the US and the EU to isolate the Russian Federation are doomed to failure.

This point of view, in particular, is shared by Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“In principle, it is impossible to isolate Russia.

To understand this, just look at the geographical map.

We are not Belgium, not some small state that can be isolated.

At the same time, only the West is trying to make Russia an outcast, while the rest of the world, on the contrary, is interested in cooperation with it.

This is China, and India, the countries of the Middle East.

In fact, the United States itself is partially isolating itself from the rest of the world, because it is becoming more and more obvious that the United States is a weakening hegemon, ”Blokhin said in an interview with RT.

Vadim Kozyulin, head of the Center for Global Studies and International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also doubts that Washington is capable of uniting the whole world against Russia.

“The Russian Federation remains a member of the SCO, BRICS.

Contacts with members of these associations are maintained and developed.

Moreover, there is a whole queue of countries that would like to join the BRICS, there are plans to diversify the functions of this organization.

Perhaps a certain body will be created within its framework, where Russia will, of course, participate, ”the analyst said in an interview with RT.

In addition, he recalled that Russia is developing military-technical cooperation with a number of countries and receives defense orders.

As Vadim Kozyulin says, “the Russian Federation has many projects in the field of energy cooperation, in the nuclear industry, and the demand for Russian energy resources remains and even grows.”

“The United States managed to draw only Europe into the isolation of the Russian Federation.

But the world is not limited only to this region,” the expert believes.

According to Konstantin Blokhin, the West initially hoped to quickly bring down the Russian economy with the help of sanctions in order to force it to abandon its goals in Ukraine.

However, in the end, the Ukrainian crisis began to weaken the West itself.

“In the West, everyone was sure that they would be able to bankrupt Russia in the shortest possible time in order to force it to stop the special operation.

This did not happen, and now Ukraine is becoming not an instrument to contain Russia, but an instrument to weaken the West, because before our eyes it is turning into a black hole for foreign weapons and finances.

And anti-Russian sanctions begin to hit on the so-called foreign partners of Kyiv.

We see this in the political crisis, in the resignations of high-ranking officials, in the growth of social protest in Western countries, ”says Blokhin.

Analysts believe that the US attempts to isolate the Russian Federation ultimately only led to the strengthening of multipolarity in the world.

“This process will continue to develop, as evidenced by economic indicators.

In addition, the military balance of power in the world is changing.

This is a serious threat to the dominance of the United States, they will counteract this.

The White House is already pursuing a policy of this kind in relation not only to Russia, but also to China, ”says Kozyulin.

In turn, Konstantin Blokhin calls the destruction of the unipolar model of the world led by the United States "an already accomplished fact."

“The world has already become multipolar, and now it is strengthening.

In fact, Washington's hegemony collapsed.

Because either you are the hegemon and control everyone, or you are not.

Under the conditions of the global dictate of the United States, such an independent behavior of Turkey, China or Saudi Arabia, which is negotiating with the PRC on oil trade for yuan, would be impossible.

These are all indicators that the unipolar world is no more, ”concluded the analyst.
